in the store.  Please join us for the classes that you see on the website

www.112sewing.com

Hello to all of our store friends...new and not new (sounds better than old).

We hope you are faring well in this heat (wow! we thought this was just grand back in June compared to the total washout of last summer, but, enough now!)

We just added to our fabric stash...about 60 new bolts.  At least 40 are below $6.00/yd.  They are beautiful. We chose the selection for jackets, totes, bags, quilts, and some especially to match the Block of the Month.

Please come in to see them.

News Bulletin for all of you that saw Kathleen's "Glow in the Dark" Pillowcase..

We just received more bolts of Glow in the Dark Fabric.

Come in before they are all gone again!!

Don't forget to pick up your 3D glasses here in the store so you can watch the Brother Launch of the new machine in 3D on August 16th!!

Also, if you have been waiting for the "Best Deal" on the Quattro...It is about to begin...with the two rebates, the machine will be priced $1,000.00 off.  You must come in for details...we cannot take calls on this offer.

Well, after the meet the teacher event in June, we had a strong enrollment in the classes and they are still filling well enough that we have not cancelled one of them.  Mickey has started a "Kids' Sewing Program".  She is hoping that it is not just a summer fling.  Instead, many of the young ladies are going to continue to come to classes on Thursday afternoons through the school year.  They have happily constructed a summer dress and we will be taking pictures of the happy campers.  Mickey will also be teaching a class for Moms and Grandmas to make clothing for their young people.

Please check our classes page because Mickey is always coming up with new ideas.  The Diva Bag class and the Professional Tote have been a huge success and will be taught on a regular basis.  Mickey is teaching the Block of the Month for the Store and for private students as well.  We have classes that are branching out to include patterns from Stephanie Kimura, such as the jacket and the purses.

Also, all of you with embroidery machines, please do not forget that we are still teaching Embroidery Club for those of you who want inspiration or just want company while playing with your machines.  It is held once a month on a Saturday morning.  If you cannot come on a weekend, just contact Mickey and she will notify you of her alternate dates.

Lynn is still teaching new Jenny Haskins' projects and will conduct a two-day class to be held on a Friday evening at the end of August, and followed by an all day Saturday class the next day.  We do expect you to leave your machines overnight, but we must send you home....no room for sleepovers.  That is directed especially at Sandy and Barbara.  As much fun as you are in class, we are not sure we can leave you unattended.  You will never sleep.

We always enjoy show and tell, and especially the kind that we can share with other store friends.  Jana came in with a very quick and easy idea for coasters.  (Imagine, even I made a bunch of them, and when customers found out, they KNEW it had to be easy).  I do not have a picture, yet, but the labor consisted of cutting six 5" squares of fabric and one 5" sq of batting.  fold 4 in half and iron a crisp edge.  then, lay one flat sq (face down) on the table, put the batting on top, followed by the second flat sq (face up).  then weave the 4 folded pieces like you are closing a box on top with the raw edges to the outside.  Now, here comes the hard part.....stitch a straight line around the outer edge, clip the corners carefully, and turn right sides out!!

Clemencia put a circular twist to the game with her Circular Sewing Bundle, and Kathleen added to the fun by embroidering one corner before she circular cut them.  The best of all invention was done by Mickey......she used PE Design and created her August Embroidery Club project.....circular coasters with embroidery done COMPLETELY IN THE HOOP.  Can it get any better?  That will be taught Saturday, August 14th  10:30 - 1 pm.

$15 Class fee      $10 kit fee

I have not had a chance to post this.

We have this great buy on a simple Start-to-Quilt Kit. Only $10.00

while supplies last.

The kit includes a rotary cutter, a cutting mat, quilter's miter ruler, leather thimble, straight pins, safety pins and quilting hand needles.

Customers purchase this for themselves to bring to class, or for a beginner quilting friend or family member.  The thimble used to sell for $9.49 itself.

The new Dakota Club issue will be in very soon...check with us.  They will be more "in the hoop" projects.  (how lazy are we getting??, but, oh boy it is fun).
